Great Ideas for your Iced Coffee

There are several ways of preparing iced coffee. Ordinary hot-brewed coffee can be served cold, although this may result in a bitter-tasting product. Cold brewing relies on time, rather than heat, to transfer the coffee flavor to the water. In order to achieve this, ground coffee is soaked in water for hours and then filtered. A quick way of preparing 'iced' versions of the most popular coffee drinks is to make a small quantity of strong, hot espresso, dissolving the required sweetener/flavorings’ in the hot liquid and then pouring this directly into a cup of ice cold milk.

Certain ideas for your iced coffee making:

• Use Coffee Ice cubes instead of the plain ones by freezing some coffee in the tray
• Use Rock sugar swizzle sticks which are sweet and fun addition to any drink
• Brew your coffee ahead of time, to give it time to cool before preparing your iced coffees
• A lot of good iced coffee recipes call for whipped cream on top for the finishing touch. Don't settle for a dull dollop!
• Giving your drinks a good shake-up will make them extra frothy so get a cocktail shaker
