Coffee Filter - Most Compatible Part of a Coffee Maker |
Basically a coffee filter is a coffee-brewing utensil, made of disposable paper. A special stainless steel filter is used for preparation of Indian filter coffee, very common coffee in India.
Coffee filters of paper are made from crepe paper. This paper allows the coffee to flow freely between the filter and the filtration funnel. A coffee needs to be compatible with coffee maker possessing specific shape and size. Cone- shaped filters are common in United States. Some of the secondary parameters for coffee filters are strength, compatibility, efficiency and capacity. If it’s not strong enough it will rupture, collecting coffee grains in the coffee pot. The resistance to heat and chemical medium proves its compatibility with other mediums. The mesh size will determine the efficiency of coffee filter at retention of different mesh size particles. Capacity can be judged by its resistance to remove particles and allow further flow without clogging or plugging.
Filters of different kinds are cloth filter, paper filters and Gold filters. Paper filters are the easiest to use, no mess trying to clean them up, though a slight papery taste is detected. Cloth Coffee Filters are great, environmental friendly and can be rinsed after use. Now, special and costlier option is real gold coffee filters - filters lined with 23karat gold will not give any odd flavors and last you a life time. |
