Double Brew or Double Strength Coffee

If you are wondering about the need to brew coffee again when it’s brewed once already, well the answer is simple, for double the sting. One technique involves running already brewed coffee back through a coffee maker over fresh grounds, while the other simply requires using twice the normal amount of grounds, the flavor varies accordingly. Simply running the already brewed coffee again through the coffee machine not only spoils the flavor, but can also make the coffee rather stale and unpleasant, so it is always better to take the longer but more rewarding route.

The longer coffee brews, the more bitter it gets, as the heat brings out the astringents in the coffee so don’t try to make double brewed coffee by cooking coffee grounds on the stove for an extended period of time. You may try by taking twice as many grounds as usual or use spices like cardamom which is ideal for iced coffee. Also as double brew or double strength coffee contains higher caffeine it could also result in a shock to your body system or higher body metabolism so it doesn’t hurt to ask the caffeine content the next time you are offered a cuppa.
