Krups Coffee Appliances
Krups launched its first electric coffee grinder in 1956 to sell a million units in the first year of manufacture. Possibly old timers may well remember the brandname ONKO that were the first Krups coffee makers that later became the T8 coffee makers. This model is still in the current Krups catalog.
In 1983 Krups launched its first espresso machine and the German passion for coffee got Krups to extend its range of machines. They made steam machines, electronically programmable models and combination espresso/coffee machines. Their pump espresso machines use pressure to force water through coffee grounds for maximum flavor extraction.
Krups has a selection of espresso machines, regular coffee machines and coffee grinders. Their coffee/espresso combination machines are programmable and allow you to choose between espresso and/or drip coffee. Krups fully automatic espresso machines perform the entire coffee making ritual. They grind, brew and pour coffee quickly and easily.
Krups coffee machines and mixers represent the bulk of the company's sales. In 1999 the company launched the first Krups Nespresso (espresso system using coffee pods), in partnership with Nestlé. Krups is now part of Groupe SEB an international market leader in small domestic equipment, since 2001.
